Welcome Copybloggers

If you’ve landed here, chances are you have come straight from reading my copyblogger guest post  16 Easy Steps to Brilliant Blog Posts.  I’m still working out where I got the nerve courage to send an unsolicited blog post to the internet’s largest online copywriting experts.  I find lots of things in my sock drawer, so maybe it was lurking in there and that’s where I found it.  Thanks, Sonia, for agreeing to publish it and, well, just for everthing.  I’d also like to thank the Academy….

This site has nothing to do with copywriting or even blogging.  Wait!  Don’t go yet! I happen to blog (here and in one other place, I”ll tell you about that in a sec) but am an absolute beginner at it and I could forgive you for thinking what does she know?    I often wonder What do I know? so we have that in common.  And I also know that once you are a part of the community, the tribe, the asylum, then your perspective shifts and you see things through the lens of an Inducted Member.  You belong and even if you don’t agree with everyone in the group, groupthink kicks in.

Beginners Eyes. See, I’m new to the Whole Online Thing so I see things through beginners eyes.  Since beginnerhood is normally a state we all want to move away from as fast as our legs (and keyboards) will take us, I thought I’d stop a while and see if it had anything worth telling me.  Us, if you’ve read the post.  I guess you’ll be the final judge of the that.  It sure helped me to write about it, and I’m nervously couragously working on a few more guest posts from beginnerland that copyblogger may be kind enough to publish in the future.  Who knows?

Stay a while….  Thanks for stopping by here, I appreciate it.  This site may not be your usual haunting ground, but I’d like to encourage you to visit for a while.  You might even want to sign up for our weekly ezine (and fabulous freebies).  At the very least, it will spike my analytics graph and give me something else to look at during my weekly site statistics seminar.  This is where I track and summarise my stats (I use this as a guide to the most useful reports), wring my hands and wonder What does all this mean?  It’s a thrilling part of my week.

My Year Without Clothes Shopping. And here’s something else that I’m doing online that you may find worth a look, depending on your personal proclivities and those of your nearest and dearest.  Check out My Year Without Clothes Shopping, a new idea I’m tending.  The seeds are planted and so now I’m fertilising the soil, watering and weeding to see what will grow.  If you are intrigued by this idea and would like to help me, ahem, fertilise it (I need 500 seriously interested people to put their name on the list via the link on the site), then please visit the site.  The same week as this post goes out to y’all at copyblogger,  I’m also appearing on the Breakfast show on New Zealand’s premier TV network to talk about it.  How’s that for synchronicity?
