How does I’m Listening Now work?

How does it work?

Reason #1: Because writing and reflecting on your “stuff” helps clear it.

There’s no doubt the powerful impact that self-reflection, writing, and self-talk have as catalysts for change and problem solving.  The positive effects on people who do those things are amazing – they not only feel better, but their immune system gets boosted.  How amazing is that? They feel more in control of their lives, and happier in general.

I’m Listening Now is built on those proven principles.  That a little bit of self-reflection, a smattering of journal writing, and a sprinkling of self-talk will help you unlock your inner wisdom and solve the problems that are holding you back.

Many people who buy self help products don’t really benefit from them.  Why not?  Because there’s no “self” in the self help.  I’m Listening Now will work because you’re in the drivers seat.

Ok, you ask: Does this stuff really work?   You decide.  To help you with that, let’s do a quick exercise now.  This is a bonus for you, just for reading this page.  It’ll take about 45 seconds, ok?

Part I: Do a quick check of how you’re feeling right now – just a quick scan of your feelings or your body.  Give yourself a ranking out of 10.  Let’s say you’re a 6 right now.  (this doesn’t have to make complete sense and please don’t over-think it.  Just go with the first number that comes to mind after you do a 5-second scan of your feelings/thoughts and body)

Part II:Imagine it’s the end of a great day for you.  Not The Perfect Day, but a great day.  You did stuff that made you feel great about your place in the world, you interacted with people who made you feel that you’re exactly who you should be, you created something that made a difference to someone you care about, and you’re full of that All’s Right With The World feeling.  You know that feeling, right?

Part III:  Re-scan your thoughts, feelings and body for how you are feeling right now.  Give yourself a new ranking out of 10.  What’s your number now?

You just did a power up your best selfmini-exercise.  How’d you go?  Easy, right?  I’m Listening Now is chock full of exercises that get you tuned into yourself, into your wisdom (not some guru’s who knows nothing about you and what your life is really like).  And the great thing is, I’m Listening Now follows a proven path.  We create a coherent course, where the first question leads logically to the next, and each session leads seamlessly to the next.  We get you where you need to go.

If you are ready to connect with your inner guru and unlock the keys within to living fully, on your terms… then I’m Listening Now is for you.  We reckon the life you should be most excited about is your own.  We want to help you power up your best self so you experience that excitement more often.

I’m Listening Now guides you through a process to take you there.

Happiness expert Dr. Sonya Lyubomirsky from the University of California has a really cool job – she studies happiness.  She and Dr. Brian Esterling from Duke University Medical Center, in different studies, found positive outcomes for people that made use of programs where writing and talking are at the core.  And that’s what I’m Listening Now is.

The happiness research shows that people who process negative life experiences through writing or talking about them report long-term improved life satisfaction, mental health, and physical health. Writing and talking out loud (even if it’s into a tape recorder) has a way of releasing painful experiences and emotions.  And if writing and talking out loud has that power – imagine what it can do for you in going from good to great.  The sky’s the limit.

We know that some of you want to hear more about the research – it’s important to know that this is based on sound thorough proper research.  We get that.  Here’s a direct quote about the positive effects of writing and self-talk based programs, straight from the Clinical Psychology Review:

“The positive effects of writing and self-talk therapy include decreased visits to doctors, decreased job absenteeism; and increased coping strategies, and improved physical conditions including immune function.”

There’s really no question that it works, is there?

Reason #2: Because you can do it yourself (which is cheaper than therapy and private coaching).  Or you can do it in conjunction with your coach/therapy work.  Both work!

Coaching and therapy can be brilliant, life changing, and necessary.  I believe in the work that coaches and therapists do;  I’ve sought out the help of therapists and coaches myself.  There are many stories of people who’s sanity was literally saved by the great work that a therapist or coach did with them.

Actually, it’s because of my own experiences of seeing therapists and coaches that I developed I’m Listening Now.  I would come home from a session with a counsellor and what was powerful was that I’d been able to process my stuff.  Ah – the relief of talking it through!  A major benefit of those sessioins seemed to be me being able to talk it out loud.

Many people would love to see a coach or therapist but can’t afford it.  Or they can’t afford to see a professional as often as they need to.  Sometimes we need to talk our stuff through every day, or every week.  And we just can’t afford the coaches bill (they deserve to make a living, too, right?).  I’m Listening Now is perfect for this situation.

You can use it in between coaching or therapy sessions, or even instead of seeing a professional if money is really tight.  If you are dealing with some very big issues in your life, then please read the disclaimer section – they’re not just words, we really mean them.  We want to be sure you get what you need and I’m Listening Now is not for everyone or every situation.

For less than the price of a few therapist visits or coaching sessions you can own your own collection of Video (or Audio) Chapter downloads or DVD that will last a lifetime.  Value for money-wise, it’s an irresistible offer, isn’t it?

Use I’m Listening Now over and over for the same or different issues. That’s neat, right?  Once you’ve got your very own copy, it’s yours to use as often as you like, whenever you like.  It’s like your best friend or an excellence coach on tap.

And just in case you need to hear it one more time, here’s Dr Brian Esterling again:  “Writing is tremendously cost effective, allows people to confront traumas and problems at their own rate, and encourages them to devise their own meaning and solutions to their problems. Many people, perhaps most, are able to guide their own therapy.” – Dr. Brian Esterling – Duke University

Reason #3:  Because the process is ridiculously easy to use.

Once you own your very own copy of I’m Listening Now, you can use it whenever or wherever you need it.  There’s no travelling, no thumbing through last year’s magazine in the waiting room, no dial-in costs, no scheduling around the coach or therapist.  You’re in the drivers seat.  Whenever you need it – I’m Listening Now is there for you.

Imagine having an issue that needs to be worked through and being able to do it while catching your train to work, waiting for your kids to get out of school, in between meetings, at a coffee shop, or in the privacy of your own home.

You wont believe how easy it is to power up your best self and use I’m Listening Now.

Reason #4:  Because it’s private.  It’s just you and the downloads (or DVD).

When we researched I’m Listening Now (which took us nearly a year), some people told us that they wouldn’t go to a coach or therapist out of embarrassment.  Their issues are private and not for sharing.  If you feel this way, I’m Listening Now was made for you, my friend.  No one knows what you disclose except you. It is just you and your coach (on screen) taking you through a session. I ask the questions, you come up with the answers, and you get total privacy.

If you are powering up your best self, you want to clear the clutter, set achievable goals and tune into your dreams.  Sometimes that’s best done in selective company.  As a close friend of mine says “share your ‘giving up’ dreams with everyone but not your ‘going up’ dreams”.  We want to set ourselves up to succeed.  Sometimes this means we need to provide a safe place to foster our goals and dreams until they’re ready to be launched into the world.  I’m Listening Now is the perfect working through hot-house for your ‘going up’ goals.

Many self-help programs are workbooks with written questionnaires or taped CD sets full of someone else talking. I’m Listening Now is different. It’s less self help and more personal excellence.

I’m Listening Now has helped others power up their best selves without breaking the bank. And, the concepts behind I’m Listening Now are validated and supported by expert researchers, medical professionals, and publications like the Clinical Psychology Review:

“—it is the self-reflection about how you feel and the insights you make that result in real shifts. Writing and talking about important events and what you think and feel about them provides a structure to troubling events that can lead to a self-identified solution”Clinical Psychology Review
